CONJURING SPIRIT, SPACE & MEMORY:
Waging Peace: The Govi Dressing Workshop
What do we carry when the ground beneath us shifts? A name… A prayer… A color remembered from childhood… The touch of cloth? Or perhaps the voice of an Ancestor? Memory is never only behind us. It lives in the body, in the senses, and in the choices we make about what must travel with into the future to bring us a sense of balance, security, justice, and love. Govis are simple containers that take on sacred meaning when addressed with our dreams, hopes, and good wishes.
Welcome to the, “Waging Peace Workshop” — an interactive exercise of memory, imagination, and repair. Memory is not simply recollection of the past. It is an ethical obligation. It shapes how communities understand themselves and whether future generations inherit dignity or dispossession… that’s what make it sacred. Together we “dress” the containers that hold our best intentions for our communities and valorize the people who make them so special.
Lead by Dr. Dòwòti Désir, the workshop is open to all faiths, all ages, all peoples. Perfect for conferences, retreats, pilgrimages and other activities that encourage mediation, community building, team bonding, belonging and meaning-making. Write us to book a live or online session at secretariat@royalpalace.co.site.
